Kim Mueller, MS, RD, CSSD resides in San Diego, CA is a Full-time Registered Dietitian and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics in private practice with her company Fuel Factor Nutrition Coaching. She is also a soon-to-be first-time mom! With two overall wins (one trail half marathon, one 10 mile race at Disney World in September) and a 3:07 marathon (doctor approved), this mom is taking the phrase “running for two” to an admirable level.
Kim has raced competitively since high school and into her college years but didn’t stop there. After becoming involved with San Diego Track Club and Tri Club of San Diego, Kim spent considerable time in triathlon (up to Ironman and 3x All-American) as well as cross country and road racing and has clocked incredible times of 1:20:53 at a half marathon and 36:39 at a 10K. She has been coached long-term by Paul Greer of San Diego Track Club, and they favor the concept of quality over quantity as well as the belief of listening to your body. In amongst starting a family, Kim has a goal of lowering her current marathon PR to 2:43 from 2:52:01 to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Marathon Trials. She plans on a serious attempt of this at the Vancouver Marathon in May of 2014.
“I am now starting my third trimester and still averaging 30-40 run miles a week along with some weight training, swimming, and spin classes. Yeah, I’d say my little girl is already tough as nails 🙂 ”
